The Honorable George W. Greer and his wife, Gail-Patricia, were selected as the Honorary Co-Chairs of the 15th annual MONOPOLY^® Night fundraiser for their many years of community service.

The Honorable George W. Greer is a retired Florida circuit judge who served in the Pinellas-Pasco County Circuit Court in Clearwater from 1992 through 2010. He was born in New York City, moved with his family to Dunedin, FL, at 4 years of age, attended local schools, St Petersburg Junior College, Florida State University and University of Florida.

George has received numerous awards throughout his career including:

• John U Bird Distinguished Jurist Award by the Clearwater Bar Association in 2001 and 2004
• The Clearwater Bar Association created the George W. Greer Judicial Independence Award in 2005
• St. Petersburg Bar Association - Jurist of the Year in 2004-2005
• President’s Award of Merit from the Florida Bar Association in 2005
• Jurist of the Year by the Florida Chapters (2005) and the Southeastern Chapters (2006) of the American Board of Trial Advocates
• N. Neal Pike prize from the Boston University School of Law in 2006
• The Whittaker Award by the Lawyers Society of Kansas City, MO in 2007
• The First Sandra Day O’Connor Jurist Award from the American College of Trial Attorneys in 2008

George has served 15 years on the Advisory Board of the Clearwater Salvation Army and he currently has a mediation, arbitration and discovery dispute resolution practice. George is a Rotarian and also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions at St. Petersburg College.

He and his wife, Gail-Patricia, who retired from the City of Clearwater in 2001, reside in Clearwater and have twin sons and two grandchildren. They look forward to celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this summer.
