Chris Renfrow founded CharityWorks in 1996 to foster innovative
philanthropy. With
over 20 years of administrative and financial management
experience in the nonprofit industry, Chris Renfrow strongly
believes creating social value means pooling resources from three
markets to create a unified program that addresses a common
objective.
Which three markets?
Donors,
Vendors, and
Nonprofits. The common objective? To establish sound,
strategic alliances to support charitable causes. The vehicle he
developed to fulfill this objective is CharityWorks'
Charitable Alliance Network (CAN) Program,
and Common Ground. Additional programs
which have been developed include
Teach and Reach
and, most recently, |
|
His healthcare experience
includes positions with Shriner's Hospitals for Children, an
international healthcare system, and All Children's Hospital, a
regional healthcare facility in Florida. Based on his extensive
healthcare career, he learned first-hand from vendors that they
are willing to recognize "charitable status" and extend a
variety of non-cash resources including discounts of 40-50% and
more.
Renfrow says his success in
helping charities is due to a vendor's willingness to recognize
"donors" as their company's "Most Favored Customer" (MFC).
After all, he says, "People who give money to nonprofit
organizations are the customers that vendors should be concerned
about." Donors want more value and accountability for their
money whether they are a large foundation or just one person with
a dream.
Realizing the significant advantages this MFC status and
leveraged purchasing power could mean to the whole nonprofit
sector, Renfrow and his colleagues began educating those involved
in business and philanthropy to a new concept called
"supply-channel philanthropy."
To further this vision Renfrow
founded CharityWorks in 1996 to promote innovative charitable
giving, a mission with a vision that successfully brings together
private and public sectors to more effectively and efficiently
serve humanitarian organizations.
In other words, helping those
who help others. For more information, please view our
