Charity Works recognizes that in a slumping economy more people are forced to turn to charity for food, shelter, medicine, and other basic human services. We have observed that even working-class families are now seeking help having been adversely affected by the housing crisis, high unemployment and rising food and gas prices.
As a result, Charity Works is planning a significant expansion of its infrastructure and the services it provides to donors, vendors, nonprofits and those in need of humanitarian assistance.
In order to maximize donor dollars and more efficiently assist nonprofits in the acquisition of humanitarian goods, Charity Works will utilize a warehousing and distribution center. This facility will enable us to efficiently acquire, store and distribute large quantities of humanitarian merchandise. This will provide nonprofits across America with an opportunity to acquire consumable goods, equipment and operating supplies under favorable terms and conditions that are other wise unavailable to the nonprofit community.
In addition, Charity Works will include a commissary to service its local community. The commissary will stock safe shelf-life food items, fresh breads, over the counter medicines as well as sundry and hygiene items and other essential consumable goods. The commissary will offer discounted pricing and humanitarian assistance programs specifically structured to help families in economic crisis, unemployed displaced workers, the indigent and permanently disabled individuals.
In addition, job training opportunities will be made available in the warehouse and commissary facilities to assist unemployed, displaced and under skilled workers to acquire a temporary job assignment, broaden their skill levels as well as to assist them in finding a permanent job opportunity.
The warehouse and commissary will be located in Tampa Bay area, and be accessible from public bus lines.
