America has long been the most compassionate and giving nation in the world providing billions of dollars in humanitarian aid to impoverished and third world nations. Presently however, thousands of its own citizens are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. Due to the economic turbulence and high unemployment in our country, the need for humanitarian assistance within the United States has greatly increased.
